Was on Bus no. 24 yesterday afternoon and had a positive experience. The bus captain was polite from the start, cos when I apologized briefly (for not walking towards the bus - cos it was 3rd in the queue, but it did stop to allow passengers to alight, therefore he had to drive a few 'steps' forward just for me, since I was only one then boarding the bus at that bus stop), he was friendly and bothered to reply - even though I was pretty soft, so I was impressed with his ability to caught what I was saying too. Okie, so much so for the long intro, I actually thought that was it. Alas, to my pleasant surprise, its not. He actually greeted passengers boarding the bus at various stops with 'Thank you'.
What impressed me was not his politeness. The thing that did was his attitude. He did it knowing (1) some ppl will find him funny/'extra', esp. in local/asian culture and (2) that he most prob. won't gain any form of reward for that - cos again, locals/asians are stingy in giving praises and I doubt there will be many who will write/call in to commend, most will probably be too lazy to do so, or simply think what he did was 'his own business', up to himself.
I think his attitude epitomize the ideal attitude towards work or when approaching a task, i.e. enjoy the process, do your part and ignore whatever critics that may come your way, as long as you deem its right/not wrong and it brings no harm to others.
I doubt its a case of 1 bus captain to specific vehicle but still, well done to Bus Captain of Bus No. 24, SBS 8238E. Way to go!
可是我真的不够勇敢
总为你忐忑为你心软
毕竟相爱一场 不要谁心里带着伤
我可以永远笑着 扮演你的配角
在你的背后自己煎熬
如果你不想要 想退出要趁早
我没有非要一起到老
